OUR HISTORY
In 2002 the New England District of AGRM (Association of Gospel Rescue Missions) developed God’s vision to establish a gospel-centered rescue mission in New Hampshire. At the time, New Hampshire was one of the few remaining States without a Gospel Rescue Mission. David Blacksmith was called in January 2003 to be the first Executive Director. He began this work of God in the summer 2003. The Mission was incorporated and filed for IRS 501(c)(3) status as a rescue mission. The Mission began renting the building at 40 Chestnut Street, Nashua for the 2003 Thanksgiving and Christmas services. Renovations were begun to the facility to enable shelter housing for up to 35 men. Carlos Salamonka continued God’s work in 2008 to include chapel meetings, programs, and shelter. In 2012, Phillip Schultz became the Executive Director and established improved financial stability for the Rescue Mission. Rick Rutter accepted the call in 2013 to further establish and mature the programs and services, along with sound operational disciplines and increased financial commitment from those with a similar heart for the hurting and homeless. Lloyd Curtis is the current President since joining the Mission in January 2019. In 2022, the Rescue Mission opened the newly renovated Hope Center for Women to serve up to 25 homeless women. The Mission is established as a respected community resource serving the needy and homeless with the love of Jesus Christ as well as daily meals and a bi-weekly food pantry.
